Nick Rubery says Ranger will likely play his football elsewhere next season but insists it is only a temporary measure.
At just 19 years old, the talented striker has already achieved an enormous amount, becoming a regular in the Newcastle squad having risen through the youth ranks.
He is said to be a massive part of the club's future but will likely miss out on an attacking role in the Premier League, with boss Chris Hughton favouring the likes of January signing Leon Best.
Indication
Hughton has made no secret of his intention to sign a striker with a Premier League track record but his funds may be limited in the summer transfer window.
Either way, Ranger will likely be sent on a season-long loan to ensure he plays regularly and maintains match fitness.
"Obviously, Nile has total respect for Chris Hughton and it is entirely up to him what he decides to do but the indication that we have been given is that he will be going out on loan next season," Rubery told The Journal.
"I don't know whether that has changed because of the statement - it depends on Chris. It is totally up to him. But I think the thinking is that he needs first-team football to progress and that he might not get that in the Premier League which I think is understandable.
"I think it would probably benefit him if he went out on loan to experience first-team football. It has been shown to work in the past with other players and it's a route open to Nile."
Ranger made 25 league appearances and played five Cup games for the Magpies this season but his role was lessened upon the arrival of Best who failed to score in 13 games after his arrival from Coventry.
