Hatem Ben Arfa being pushed out by Newcastle

According to our colleagues at Le Parisien, Newcastle United attacking midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa is being forced out of the club this summer.

The player has been informed that he will not be taking part in the Magpies’ pre-season tour to New Zealand and will instead remain in England to train with the reserve team under the wing of their manager Peter Beardsley. Unfortunately, the situation is yet worse.

Newcastle wish to fine the player €2000 because he returned from holiday 1.5 kilograms over the required weight limit. Hatem Ben Arfa denies this and is currently contesting it, he claims that the extra weight he gained was muscle when he was on holiday in Saint-Barths and Miami…

Newcastle United are actively trying to sell the player on and had accepted an offer from an unknown Ukrainian side for the player’s services, but Ben Arfa is refusing to agree personal terms.

His adviser Michel Ouazine has announced that Ben Arfa may look to remain at Newcastle until his contract expires next summer, so that clubs will see him as a more attractive proposition, free.

Kažu da je došao na trening sa samo 1.5 kg viška. Mislim da je došao sa jedno 10kg viška.

To je ono sto ja govorim, on je zongler, cirkuzant a ne fudbaler. Nolan koji je po talentu nista za ovoga uradi mnogo vise na terenu.

A Ailton je vise voleo da igra po pecenjarama, svadbama, slavama i preslavama (ladno pecenje voliiiii), dacama... Nego na terenu. Hoce da eksplpdira koliki je.

French Media – Hatem Ben Arfa Not Given A Squad Number

It has now been reported over in France that Hatem Ben Arfa has allegedly not even been given a Newcastle United squad number for the coming season.

The French website FOOT01 claim that Ben Arfa turned down a new extended contract on less money, which was the final twist in the conflict between player and club.

The turning down of the pay cut leading to a situation where Newcastle United are claimed to be doing everything within their power to force the Frenchman out of the club.

As has already been widely reported, Hatem Ben Arfa and Sylvain Marveaux have been sent to train with the kids instead of the first team when the players reported back for pre season.

Then despite so many big names missing the trip to New Zealand due to the Wolrd Cup and/or just signing, neither Marveaux or Ben Arfa were included in the travelling squad. To make matters even worse, the two wingers weren’t even allowed to be part of the team that played a friendly fundraiser for Gateshead’s long serving James Curtis.

A sad situation all round, as the crowd of 1,514 at the International Stadium on Friday night could easily have been doubled or trebled with the inclusion of the pair, giving entertainment to the crowd and topping up the cash raised, as well as helping with the pair’s fitness.

It has also been made public that Hatem Ben Arfa was fined 2,000 Euros by Newcastle United for reporting back 1.5 kilos overweight, something which the player claimed was due to ‘extra muscle mass’.

If indeed Ben Arfa has not been given a squad number and still intends to stick it out on Tyneside, all I can say is what a waste all round.

French daily Le Parisien are said to have approached Newcastle United for a quote on the Hatem Ben Arfa situation but were met with a polite ‘no comment
